A walk with Margaret Marande, author of The Hardy Way.
Meet at The Wise Man Inn for a circular walk of about five and a half miles in 'Tess' country, the area south-east of Casterbridge to Maumbury Rings and the Elizabeth Frink statues, a memorial to all those who had 'For Conscience Sake' been executed at Gallows Hill. Lunch will be at the pub. Please let us know if you would like to book lunch. After lunch a short extension along the lane to Talbothays Lodge in the 100th anniversary year of Mary Hardy's death.
Walk grading: easy to moderate. Stout footwear advisable.
This event forms part of the Thomas Hardy Society September 12/13 weekend 2015. All are welcome. Walks are free but the Society likes to know numbers in advance.
Safety - Any outdoor activity can be hazardous. Participants are reminded to exercise appropriate care on all walks.
