A Weekend in Cornwall, based at St. Juliot.    The Weekend will begin with a Welcome Dinner at the Old Rectory, where Hardy and Emma first met.  After the meal there will be informal poetry reading and guests are welcome to bring their own contributions to this.  On Saturday morning we will again meet in the Old Rectory for presentations on Hardy's war poems and on Emma Hardy. In the afternoon there will be a walk, led by Tony Fincham, which will be in two parts so that there are shorter and longer options.  In the evening, dinner will be at the Wellington Hotel, which also has strong Hardy connections.

Approximate timings for Saturday:
9.30am     Meet at the Old Rectory.  Sally Searle will take us to the spot where Hardy began the composition, 126 years ago, of 'In Time of the Breaking of Nations', which was finally published in 1915.
10.00am   Dr Jane Thomas will give a talk on 'The Meaning of the Broad Karoo: Hardy and the Boer War
10.45am   Coffee Break
11.15am   Marilyn Leah and Chris Searle on Emma Hardy and Boscastle
12.00pm   Collection of packed lunches and preparation for Walk
1.00pm     Walk begins from Old Rectory
7.30pm     Dinner at the Wellington Hotel

On Sunday, the Palm Sunday service at St. Juliot's Church will be followed by a visit to the Boscastle Farm Shop and Cafe, in its spectacular setting on the cliffs, for a Farewell lunch.

Tickets £50pp or £34 if not attending the Friday evening dinner.  Please note accommodation needs to be booked separately.
